Howard Atkins

Associate, BSc (Hons), MSc




Having spent many years working with members of QFI Consulting during their careers at Ashridge Consulting (part of the Ashridge Business School), Howard joined QFI as an associate. He brings to QFI vast knowledge and experience of creating conditions in which people can successfully learn and embrace new ideas and ways of working.

 

Howard has always been interested in the Theory of Constraints (TOC), particularly how it can bring about paradigm shifts in people's thinking and ways of seeing. Through his collaboration with QFI, Howard mixes TOC with exchange and learning to fuel people's creative energy to think differently, work together and support each other in leading their organisation into the future. Howard's specialty is in helping senior managers develop their leadership capability and in developing the consulting capability of both internal and external consultants.

 

Howard has worked with a range of clients from the private and public sectors, both in the UK and  in over thirty countries around the world. Clients include Samworth Brothers, Mars, FrieslandCampina, Deutsche Bank, BBC, DSM, DFID, FCO, International Finance Corporation (IFC), Unilever and the UK National Health Service.

 

Howard augments his work with a passion for teaching. He was previously director of the Consulting & Change in Organisations open programme at Ashridge Management College, and was a faculty member and programme manager on the Ashridge Masters in Organisation Consulting (AMOC). He has also taught on Organisation Development and Consulting Masters programmes at Southbank University and Sheffield Busienss School.

 

Howard graduated in Business Economics from Southampton University and completed a post graduate diploma in Organisation Development at Sheffield Business School. Howard also has a Masters degree in Organisation Development and is qualified in the use of pyschometric instruments
